When Will the V8-Powered Wrangler Be Released?
Months ago Jeep dangled a new V8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept in front of the world just hours before the drop of the new Ford Bronco. The timely news dump of the new Rubicon 392 Concept seems to imply the highly anticipated HEMI® option may make its way into showrooms, but Jeep isn’t spilling any details just yet. So, will the 2021 Jeep Wrangler have a V8 engine? Here’s what industry experts are saying about the topic.

Based on the four-door Wrangler Unlimited, the concept is powered by the all-too familiar 6.4-liter HEMI® V8, doling out 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. The Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept is just a concept car, but Jeep has confirmed that this is a sign that the HEMI® V8 will be making its way to of the Wrangler production line shortly. The Jeep assembly plant in Toledo, Ohio, has allegedly produced around 30 examples of a V8-powered Wrangler since the plant reopened after COVID-19 closures, but just how soon drivers will be able to purchase a Wrangler V8 at their local Jeep dealer is unclear.

Will the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Have a HEMI® V8 Engine?
Ideally, the new HEMI V8® will be available for 2021, just in time to take on the Ford Bronco’s first year on the market, but it’s also very possible for the production version to drop later down the line. Some in the industry have claimed a 2021 reveal would be unlikely given the brand is already strapped for time in 2021 production due to pandemic shutdowns.
