The 2020 Dodge Charger Pursuit rips up to a top speed of 149 mph and can launch from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 5.87 seconds. Basically, if you see that red and blue flashing over a Charger, consider yourself cuffed. But those figures are for the Charger Pursuit with the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine, and police don’t always opt for the V8. Urban patrol cars are more likely to use the more efficient 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6, which is less expensive and more fuel-efficient. Still, even the V6 kicks up to 141 mph. The average modern car is limited to a top speed of around 120 mph, so don’t you go planning to evade arrest behind the wheel of your Camry sedan.

But before you call your bail bondsman, you should know the Charger Pursuit isn’t the most aggro muscle car in the Dodge stable. The world’s most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan, the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody blows by the police version with a top speed of 196 mph. That leaves a nice 50-mph gap between the SRT Hellcat and the fuzz.
